Oail Andrew “Bum” Phillips Jr., served as the head coach for the Houston Oilers from 1975 to 1980 and the New Orleans Saints from 1981 to 1985. He spent half his adult life as a football coach and every waking moment as the personification of all things Texan.

Bud Adams, the owner of the Houston Oilers and their successors, the Tennessee Titans, he died in his home in Houston. He was 90 years old.
